Show to host seminar on low-cost airline carriers and travel trends
With less than a week remaining, anticipation is building as Belgrade prepares to host City Break 2008 from 9th–10th June.

A collective buying power of over £500,000 million will descend on the city to address key trends influencing the City Break travel sector and to meet with new and emerging European destinations and suppliers.

The final line-up of exhibitors at the Belgrade Fair now totals over 200 specialist suppliers of city breaks. Hailing from over 70 European destinations, suppliers will meet with an unrivalled list of pre-qualified international hosted buyers. One-to-one meetings will follow Reed Travel Exhibitions’ highly successful pre-scheduled appointment system allowing buyers to select 15-minute appointments with up to 30 chosen exhibitors.

A diverse range of capital and secondary cities have confirmed their participation at City Break 2008 including Athens, Amsterdam, Berlin, Bratislava and Zurich; plus a host of city-based hotels, destination management companies (DMCs) and other city-based suppliers. New exhibitors at the show include Rimini, Podgorica, Budva, Toledo, Las Palmas, Biarritz and Maribor.

Virginie de Chasteauneuf, Sales Manager of JACOB Online (UK), a third-time exhibitor, commented: “City Break is a great opportunity to update people on new destinations. We have a new contracting office in Belgrade so this is a great opportunity to contract more hotels and to offer familiarisation trips to any agents who could be interested in discovering more about the Balkan region in conjunction with the show.”

Over 20 suppliers from host city Belgrade and Novi Sad will use the platform as key opportunity to promote the city’s wide range of hotels, travel services and tourist attractions to over 100 buyers and 50 European journalists. Exhibitors with specialised local knowledge include: Tourist Organization of Belgrade, JAT Airways (Serbian official airline), Hotel Continental Belgrade, and Grand Casino Belgrade.

City Break 2008 is sponsored by European Cities Marketing, the leading professional tourism network for European cities, and will take place prior to ECM’s annual summer conference in Belgrade.

Catherine Vaughan, Marketing Manager for City Break 2008 said: “The show has an excellent track record for suppliers who are looking to benefit from the city break market and to promote their product and destinations. And by coming to Belgrade we are highlighting how the city break market has matured as consumers look for new and exciting destinations.” Theodore Koumelis - Wednesday, June 04, 2008
