Norwegian launches new route from London Gatwick to Stavanger
Wednesday, September 19, 2007
Norwegian will start a new route from London-Gatwick to Stavanger from the 2nd of November. The route will initially be served with four weekly frequencies and is Norwegian’s sixth route from London. “We are happy to add Stavanger to our extensive network from London. With our low prices starting at GBP 26, - one way, including taxes, we believe this new route will be a success,” says Daniel Skjeldam, Director Network and Revenue in Norwegian.

“Stavanger has a lot to offer the visitors, including a beautiful old harbour with restaurants and cafes and many inner city lakes which are popular recreational areas. Stavanger is only a short boat trip away from Norway’s most famous fjords and coastal scenery. For the business traveller it is important to know that Stavanger is the oil capital of Norway, with many international companies present. Stavanger also offers connections onwards to other Norwegian domestic destination,” added Skjeldam.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
