Booking.com joins forces with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
Wednesday, September 26, 2007
Booking.com has been selected by KLM (part of Air France-KLM, the largest European airline group), as a strategic partner for the distribution of hotels. Marcel Kuijn, E-marketing Manager, KLM said: Millions of passengers can now benefit from a wide selection of hotels, ranging from basic budget properties through to five star luxury hotels in and around KLM’s destinations, at great prices. KLM is constantly looking for new ways to meet our customers’ needs and our partnership with Booking.com enables us to take the next step towards providing a complete travel service on klm.com.

The hotel search function is now live on klm.com and offers customers a number of search options to find their perfect hotel room.

Stef Norden, CEO, Booking.com stated: In the 12 months to March 2007, KLM Group carried over 22 million passengers. We are proud to welcome such a key partner and to be a part of KLM’s commitment in providing an additional service for their customers. With highly competitive hotel rates now available on klm.com, a vast choice of properties and the flexibility to make last minute reservations, we believe this partnership offers great added value for KLM customers.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
