Aviareps appoints new corporate officer
Thursday, November 08, 2007
Aviareps AG announced changes to its board. With immediate effect Thomas Drechsler is taking control of the Aviareps Tourism sector at the airline and tourism representation company, whose head offices are in Munich. The 40-year old is taking on global responsibility for developing the Tourism sector.

The new corporate officer is taking the place of Keith Mangum who has held this position for three and a half very successful years. The 56-year old American turns his focus back to his work as managing director of Aviareps Magnum, the tourism representation company for Germany. He will also be acting as an advisor to the administrative board of several tourism companies within the Aviareps group.

Thomas Drechsler started his career with two spells with tour operators in the US, lasting several years each. Ten years ago he joined Mangum Management. Aviareps AG has held a share in this Munich-based destination-marketing agency since 2004. The agency still forms part of the group and is now the German tourism representative company known as Aviareps Mangum.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
