More and more Brits egg-scaping to Ireland

Brits experienced a craic-ing good Easter break in Ireland the past weekend (22 - 23 March), according to Aer Arann, with figures released showing a 14 per cent rise in air passenger bookings from the UK to Ireland. Customers choosing to fly Aer Arann domestically have also increased 7% increase over the same weekend last year.

Colin Lewis, Head of Sales and Marketing at Aer Arann, said: “This Easter exodus is outstanding and follows hot on the heals of a complete sell-out last weekend for St Patrick’s Day. Ireland is clearly a top holiday break destination and we hope to welcome more people to the Emerald Isle during the spring.”

Colin added: “The number of passengers chose to travel with Aer Arann overall is extremely encouraging. We have made great gains in the UK market and these figures reflect this substantial increase.”

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.
