Proavia rebalances its board of trustees
Tuesday, May 20, 2008

The new nominations to French Airport Technology Trade Association's (PROAVIA) board of trustees have restored the balance between airport and air traffic safety equipment manufacturers. ADP Ingenierie, ALSTEF and IER have joined the board of PROAVIA for the financial year 2008.

The election of a new executive committee with chairman Jacques LAFAY (STERIA) supported by Alexandre de St-Phalle (CS) as vice-president, Fernando Ribeiro (THORN AIRFIELD LIGHTING) as secretary and Patrick Lefevre (THALES) as treasurer means that the consultants and equipment manufacturers for airports are now as well represented as those involved in air traffic safety. This rebalancing comes at a time when French airport projects abroad are enjoying enormous success.

PROAVIA currently brings together 42 companies who provide products and services throughout the world. Their accumulated know-how makes them some of the leading companies in the world in their sector.

Founded jointly in 1976 by the French Civil Aviation Authority’s Technical Service for Aerial Navigation and 4 major French manufacturers from the sector, PROAVIA’s mission is to promote French airport products and services and to support its members’ export sales.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
