Rate Tiger wins backing from Spanish Hotel Association
Monday, June 09, 2008

Spain’s hoteliers association has given is backing to Rate Tiger as the online channel and revenue management software of choice for its industry.

The Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT) has recognised Rate Tiger’s suite of products as the most effective way for its members to manage their inventory.

Rate Tiger’s growing presence amongst Spanish hotels, together with its strong relationships with online distribution channels and other hospitality distribution systems, made the partnership with CEHAT the obvious way forward for the organisation and its members.

CEHAT recognises Expedia certified Rate Tiger, for its quality and stable products, which allow for the easy updating of distribution channels, travel portals and wholesalers as well as competitor rate comparison.

This major endorsement comes as Rate Tiger is about to introduce its new product line RTStrategy, which will help hoteliers determine rates and availabilities for their various online distribution channels.

CEHAT also acknowledges Rate Tiger’s success in addressing the needs of all hotels with the launch of RTShopper Lite and RTAllocator Lite. The Lite products allow hotels with less demand for online distribution to install a simple to use high quality product.

“Rate Tiger offers a set of compatible and scalable solutions which allow hotels to manage their rates simply and effectively in different channels, thereby optimising sales over the Internet”, says Pablo Bernaola, Director of Institutional Relations at CEHAT.

“Rate Tiger’s software can also help benchmark competitors. The suites have already been introduced to many Spanish hotel chains. Rate Tiger’s channel management software provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for all properties including small and independent hotels,” says Snr Bernaola.

Rate Tiger sees the collaboration with the Spanish national body of hoteliers as an honour and an opportunity to expand across Europe. “Spain is one of our strongest markets which makes our presence in Europe much stronger and will contribute to understanding our customers and the challenges they face to further continue building cutting edge technology tailored to hoteliers’ needs.” says Sascha Hausmann, Chief Operating Officer at Rate Tiger.

Rate Tiger’s partnership with CEHAT, together with its close affiliation with Hotelverband Deutschland, Germany’s Hotel Association, demonstrates the success of the European expansion and the status in Europe as a pioneer and leader of new technologies for the hospitality industry.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
