Wednesday, August 13, 2008
In today's world it is increasingly important that travel agency owners and managers be aware of the key industry issues that face them and take advantage of professional development and growth opportunities. For this reason, THE TRADESHOW is offering a series of seminars focused on arming travel industry professionals with the tools they need to succeed. The 2008 THE TRADESHOW will take place in Orlando, Sept. 7-9, at the Orange County Convention Center.

"To thrive in a competitive business, travel agents need to be able to recognize opportunities, prepare for potential challenge, and overcome hurdles," said Bill Connors, CTC, Executive Director & COO of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), a sponsor of THE TRADESHOW. "NBTA is pleased to be part of the educational program at THE TRADESHOW, where seminars are designed to help attendees meet these business needs. NBTA will offer a ‘taste' of its Fundamentals of Business Travel Management program, giving agents a chance to overview this potentially lucrative industry segment."

Delegates will have the option of attending any or all of the following seminars:

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
