AVIAREPS represents Hanover Airport
Tuesday, September 23, 2008
The AVIAREPS Group, leading in airline and tourism management, is to represent Hanover Airport with immediate effect. It will take charge of all sales and marketing activities in the growth markets of China and the United Arab Emirates for its new customer. Hanover Airport intends to establish the Hanover region as an attractive destination for business and leisure travel for the target markets. The customer account will be managed in the company’s branches AVIAREPS Marketing Garden in Beijing and Dubai.

The Hanover area is home to the headquarters of numerous internationally established companies in the automotive industry (e.g. Volkswagen) and the mechanical engineering industry (e.g. MTU Aero Engines). The capital city of the German federal state of Lower Saxony is also the location of the renowned “Medizinische Hochschule Hannover” (Medical University of Hanover). As well as being a training centre for top doctors, this is also a superbly equipped hospital covering an exceptionally broad range of specialist disciplines. The city has the largest exhibition centre in the world and organises international leading trade fairs such as CeBIT and IAA Nutzfahrzeuge.

Attractions such as the 800-year-old Old Town, the classical Opera House or the Herrenhausen Gardens with their baroque villas are perfect for leisure tourism. Hanover's closeness to the German capital Berlin and the financial centre Frankfurt makes for interesting day and weekend trips.

"One of our core strategies is to promote the sustainable development of our region. We want to enhance awareness of Hanover as an attractive destination, particularly in key growth markets like China and the United Arab Emirates," says Udo Sass, Senior Vice President Aviation at Hanover Airport.

"It is a special honour for AVIAREPS to be commissioned to represent Germany's sixth most service-oriented airport at an international level. Our account managers in Beijing and Dubai have excellent regional knowledge and the know-how needed to address the target markets effectively. We want to harness this advantage in order to raise the profile of Hanover as a destination for international visitors," says Peter Patsch, Director International Marketing at AVIAREPS.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
