TNTO - new UK and Ireland Director
Tunisian National Tourist Office welcomes new UK & Ireland Director
Tuesday, October 07, 2008
The Tunisian National Tourist Office (TNTO) is delighted to welcome Anissa Ramoundi as the new UK and Ireland Director.  Anissa Ramoundi will be taking over the role previously held by Neji Ben Othman.

Anissa began her career with TNTO in 1996 where she worked in the Marketing and Communications department in Tunis. In 2006, after ten years in Tunis, she moved to the position of Director of the Tunisian National Tourist Office in Lisbon. In her new role as Director of TNTO in the UK & Ireland, Anissa Ramoundi will continue the work already set in motion to position Tunisia as a beach holiday destination but also to promote the country’s additional offerings such as golf, spas, dars, archaeology and the Sahara. Anissa will be based in the London TNTO office on Wigmore Street and will head up the current team of seven.

“I’m incredibly excited about joining the TNTO in the UK and Ireland. The last year has seen interest in the destination rise dramatically,” says Ramoundi.

“Tunisia is the jewel of the Mediterranean and although it is a wonderful beach holiday choice, there is so much more to be discovered, from ancient architecture, to luxury spas, intimate dars and of course, the stunning Sahara… I will be utilising my new role to continue the good work already put in place by the current team to promote Tunisia as a magical holiday destination and to further highlight to the UK market the many attractions and activities on offer just two and a half hours away.”

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
