Hilton launches innovative Middle East incentiuve programme for conference and events bookers

Hilton Hotels is introducing a range of exciting incentives for ‘bookers’ to choose a Hilton Family hotel in the Middle East, UK and Europe for their next conference or event to be held before 30 April 2009. The new conference and incentive programme will be launched by the company at the Business Travel Show in Dubai next week (October 20-21).

From October 20, bookers who mention the offer to a Hilton hotel reservations agent, their dedicated Hilton account manager or through their Regional Group and Conference desk, have the opportunity to receive:
- Iomega Prestige 160GB Portable Hard drive or Kodak Easyshare 300 Photo Printer, for events up to US$4,700 in eligible charges;
- TomTom One Navigation System or Nintendo DS Lite, for events up to US$9,300 in eligible charges;
- Nintendo Wii console or ARCHOS 5 Internet Media Tablet 60GB, for events up to US$18,600 in eligible charges; and
- Sony Playstation 3 or Bose SoundDock Portable Music System, for events up US$28,000 in eligible charges.

Fourteen hotels across the Arabian Peninsula & Indian Ocean are participating; U.A.E, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Mauritius.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
