Choice Hotels offers travel agents enhanced booking capabilities
Monday, February 14, 2005
Choice Hotels International, offers travel agents Next Generation Seamless, the highest level of information available through the Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan Global Distribution Systems (GDS).

Next Generation Seamless displays real-time rates, availability and rules from Choice Hotels` central reservation system (CRS), providing immediate and accurate information to agents.

Next Generation Seamless offers travel agents a higher level of confidence as they shop, said Mary Beth Knight, vice president of e-Commerce. This enhancement increases the speed and accuracy with which we communicate with agents -- thereby increasing agent loyalty to our hotel brands.

Next Generation Seamless offers travel agents up-to-the-second rates and availability, a cleaner screen design and increased confidence in the accuracy of the information. It also provides travel agents with true availability directly from Choice Hotels` CRS. This information is available immediately to agents as they log onto the GDS` initial Hotel Availability.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
