Directions, The design hotels Travel Journal
The design hotels directory gets a new look!
Wednesday, March 09, 2005
The international hotel cooperation design hotels(tm) has re-launched its annual directory hotel guide. Renamed Directions, the publication is now in a portable magazine format and will be published twice a year. In addition to providing an overview of all member hotels, Directions is set to be the voice of the brand featuring insight into new concepts, current and future trends and intriguing destinations.

The launch issue of Directions is composed of an editorial section with contributions by international travel, architecture and lifestyle writers, and a hotel finder, which includes images and text on all 137 member properties of design hotels.

It was conceived as a value-added service for our guests and is available as a free take-away magazine in each of our hotels` guestrooms.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
