Aer Lingus announces two new routes for winter 2005
Wednesday, May 25, 2005
Aer Lingus announced the introduction of two new routes from Dublin to Europe in its winter schedule this year. This expansion brings to ten the number of new routes introduced already in 2005, and supports the airline`s growing European operation to and from Ireland.

Services to Krakow in Poland and Almeria in Spain will commence from the end of October 2005.

Announcing the expansion, Chief Operating Officer, Niall Walsh, said, The introduction of these new routes reaffirm Aer Lingus` commitment to providing direct, low fares access for Irish customers to new destinations as well as providing real growth opportunities in inbound tourism from emerging markets.

We are very pleased with customer demand to the eight new routes introduced already this year. The introduction of these additional new routes, which results in a doubling of our route network in less than three years, demonstrates our commitment to our strategy of further extending our route network and providing customers with wider choice of new and traditional destinations at very competitive fares
Mr Walsh concluded.

Special introductory each way fares of €44 excluding taxes and charges are available on www.aerlingus.com

The airline will operate three services a week from Dublin to Krakow - on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday while flights from Dublin to Almeria will operate twice weekly - on Wednesday and Saturday.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
