Group Chinese tourists to Japan start on July 25
Wednesday, July 06, 2005
China and Japan jointly announced that group Chinese tourists to Japan will start throughout the nation from July 25.

The action marked a new era of bilateral tourism exchanges and cooperation, said Shao Qiwei, director of the China National Tourism Administration.

China and Japan are neighbors, with similar cultures. Rich tourism resources attracted each other`s tourists, who pass on friendship and enhance mutual understanding as well as trust. Japan is the biggest tourism source nation for China during the past years. China`s outbound tourism market has been developing rapidly in recent years and still has huge potential, which attracts world attention. Japan is one of their choices, due to geographic advantages, added Shao.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
